Workshops are scheduled to provide focused information about basic photo skills, software use, and topics such as night photography, maco images, landscapes and similar. Workshops usually are free or low cost.

Planning and Executing Your Photography Trip

Where to go, what to pack, gear to bring … Master* photographer and club member John Nixon explains how to plan a photo trip.. Above, John's photo of Edinburgh, Scotland, during its blue hour.

John will lead a workshop to help photographers benefit from and enjoy a photography trip. Topics include:

  • Research and planning
  • Identifying locations
  • Self-guided versus guided tours
  • Equipment selection
  • Processing and outputting your images

The free workshop will be at 7 p.m., Thursday, May 24, at the club’s usual meeting place: UNT Health Science Center, 3500 Camp Bowie Blvd., Medical Extension Education Building 2, Room 100. 

(*Master photographers are those who have successfully entered monthly competitions and been named Photographer of the Year in the Advanced category.)
